Principle 1, focusing on production, and Principle 2, on sodium cyanide transportation, are met if the cyanide producer and its entire supply chain have been previously certified.
Principles 3 through 9 are the responsibility of the mines and are evaluated for compliance with the cyanide code.
The results of this certification audit are: full compliance, substantial compliance, and non-compliance.
In the case of substantial compliance, a corrective action plan is developed to address the non-conformities. Once completed, the mine's status changes to full compliance.
